Intimate Winter Wedding at Middleton Lodge, North Yorkshire

A Middleton Lodge Winter Wedding was not on the cards for Claire and Rhyan. In fact is was their intention to marry in the Summer of 2020 surrounded by all their friends and family. Sadly, a July postponement followed with a November postponement and then a squeeze of a chance a few days before Christmas. Thankfully the Universe was shining down on these two wonderful humans and they finally said their I Do’s on 20th December 2020.

Summer Wedding to Winter Wedding Look

Claire’s wedding gown was a Jenny Packham beauty, soft, romantic with an abundance of fabric, perfect for the dancefloor! Embellished top and the softest fabric for the bottom which looked incredible as Claire swished around in bridal prep. When we did her trial back at the start of 2019, we were thinking fresh and soft make up and a pop of Summer colour on the lips.

As this was now happening in the Winter, we decided to change it up a bit, as the ceremony was 2pm and not very much day light left. Claire, also suggested that we ‘glam it up a bit’ for the Christmas vibe! Whilst the skin still looked natural and fresh, we made it a little more of an evening look. With a stronger eye and a stronger/darker colour on the lips, which looked gorgeous on Claire with her long dark hair in a soft glamorous wave with a deep parting.

When I finished Claire’s hair and make up, there was a sense of old Hollywood, which I adored! Maybe it was something to do with the faux fur jacket or the side hair pin we popped in. Whatever it was, she looked incredible!

It felt wonderful to be back with brides on their wedding days. It’s been a very funny year and I’m wondering what the forthcoming year will bring for my clients and I. Either way, this ended the year on a high with Claire and her wonderful family! I didn’t see Claire, not smiling once all morning!

I met Photographer Neil Jackson back in 2016, when we did a wedding in Scarborough, where does time go! It was great to see him again and adore his images of this happy, smiley couple. Capturing that late afternoon winter sunset.

It was long time no see for me and wonderfully talented Lucy MacNicoll who created the beautiful floral arrangements, and to see Claire’s reaction when Lucy delivered them was priceless. A very happy bride!

Claire sent over a lovely message after the wedding;

‘I just wanted to send a note to say a massive thank you! you really are a miracle worker, everyone looked so beautiful and not a hair out of place! Thank you for making the morning of my wedding calm and relaxed, just what I needed’.

Thank you Claire for trusting me to create your wedding day look. I absolutely loved every minute of our time together!

And so very happy you guys got to marry – enjoy married life!
